Building Safety: Where You
Live, Work and Play
The Ocoee Building Division asks all citizens to participate
by observing the buildings they live, learn, work and play for
safety problems. Then take the necessary action to correct the
problems.
Across the nation, communities will promote the use and
understanding of building safety and fire prevention codes to
protect lives and property. Building safety and fire codes
address all aspects of construction such as structural, fire
prevention and suppression system, electrical, plumbing,
mechanical and energy efficiency systems. Ocoee's inspection
professionals inspect buildings during and after construction to
help insure safety.
To ensure buildings remain safe requires active participation by
property owners.
City of Ocoee asks citizens to participate by examining their
properties and make corrections and repairs. Also reminds the
public that building permits are required for many types of
repairs. Contact the Ocoee Building Division before making
changes or repairs to see if a permit is required. Building
permits are needed to help ensure that building safety codes are
met and that the work has been performed correctly. Our
professional plan review and inspection staff serves our city by
protecting the owners safety and interests.
We should all strive to make and keep all structures in Ocoee
safe.
The Building Division
is in the same building and will be glad to answer your
questions and give you the proper forms to file for a permit if
one is needed.
