Department
staff utilize geographic information system (GIS) software to
document existing City infrastructure and assist in the evaluation
of proposed development and City policies. GIS allows data to be
expressed on a map, thereby making more accessible for the public,
City management, and the City Commission. Maps are updated using
as-built drawings once projects are completed or through field
surveys utilizing GPS receivers. Aerial photography is made
available through the GIS operation to all City departments. Recent
work supported Commission redistricting and mapping of City
utilities. Much of the analytical work done using GIS relates to
the review of proposed developments in the Development Services
Division.
Under Florida law, e-mail addresses are public records. If you do not want your email address released in response to a public-records request,
do not send electronic mail to the City. Instead, contact us by phone or in writing.
