FUNCTIONS
|
The Planning Department is responsible for Comprehensive Planning,
Site and Subdivision Development Reviews, Rezonings, Annexations,
Transportation Planning, Concurrency, and Development Agreements.
The Staff regularly deals with developers and the general public to
review growth-related issues affecting the future urban pattern of
the community.
The Planning Department performs an important public service by
ensuring that all development within the City conforms to the Land
Development Code and State Growth Management laws to ensure the
highest quality of life for the citizens of Ocoee.

Duties include: Manages the functions and duties of the Planning and
Zoning areas of Development Services, prepares and implements the
City’s growth management policy, responsible for inter-governmental
coordination efforts with State and Federal agencies and divisions
including, Department of Community Affairs, Department of
Environmental Regulations, Department of Natural Resources, Water
Management Districts, regional planning council, and adjoining
counties and municipalities.
