MAYOR VANDERGRIFT |
Mayor Scott Vandergrift, a native of Ocoee and Florida, is
a licensed Real Estate Broker and Realtor with over 30 years
experience.
Mayor Scott, as he is known to the community, is a Member of the
Florida League of Cities (serving on Quality Cities and
Environmental Quality Committees), the Tri-County League of
Cities, the Orange County Civic Facilities Authority, the United
Nations Association of the United States, and the Ocoee Lions
Club. Mayor Vandergrift was a Board Member of the West Orange
Chamber of Commerce, the East Central Florida Planning Council,
the Friends of Lake Apopka (FOLA), and an Associate Member of
the West Orange Senior Citizens.
Prior to his election in November 1992, Mayor Scott previously
served as Mayor from 1973-1975; Commissioner 1967-1969; and was
a Charter Member and Past President of the Tri-County League of
Cities; a Lifetime Honorary Member of the Florida Sheriff's
Association; Charter Member and Past President of the Ocoee
Jaycees; the Good Government Award Outstanding Young Men in
America; Past President of the Ocoee Volunteer Fire Department;
Charter Member, President, Sponsor, Umpire, Grounds Keeper, Team
Manager, Coach, and Assistant District Administrator of the
Ocoee Little League for 16 years; Founder and President of the
Ocoee Water Ski Club, Chairman of the Silver Dollar Regatta;
Past Sponsor of the Ocoee Bulldogs Football Team; Former Member
of the Ocoee Rotary Club; and Chairman of the S.O.S. (Save Our
Star-Lite, Inc.). He served in the U.S. Navy, QM3 1958-60.
Mayor Scott is a graduate of Jones Business College with a
Bachelor of Science in Management and Marketing.
Mayor Vandergrift and his wife, Beth, have been married fifteen
years. He has one son, Lee, two daughters, Donna Deitrick and
Marsha Vandergrift, a grandson, Brent Deitrick, and
grand-daughter, Chelsea Vandergrift.
