The City of Ocoee
Information Systems Division proudly presents BetterPlace ‑ a
new tool for increasing communication between you and your City
government. BetterPlace is an Internet web site on which you
can ask questions, request service, file a complaint, or voice
your opinion on services provided by the City. Based on the
category you select, the BetterPlace web site automatically
routes your request to the appropriate department twenty-four
hours a day, seven days a week, three hundred sixty-five days a
year. In addition, if you select the wrong category, City
staff will automatically transfer it to the correct department.
This means no more looking up phone numbers, waiting until
business hours, transferring phone calls between departments, or
trying to determine which department to call.
When filling out the
request form, you may make requests anonymously or leave your
contact information. The BetterPlace web site accepts your
phone number, mailing address, and e-mail address as a way of
communicating with you. If you choose to provide this
information, someone from the City will respond to you by the
end of the next business day. However, if you choose to be
anonymous, you must visit the BetterPlace web site to view the
resolution status of your request. While the City may not
resolve your request in the one-day timeframe, you know someone
is looking into it and you can monitor the progress.
When entering a
request, you must provide at least three pieces of information.
The first is to select the category for which your request best
fits. This determines who will initially receive your request.
Remember, if you choose incorrectly, the City will automatically
reroute your request to the appropriate department. Next, you
must enter the location to which this request refers. This
could be your home address, business address, an intersection, a
stretch of road, the pole number on a street light, or any other
description that lets City Staff know where to find the
problem. Lastly, you must enter a description of the problem.
Please provide detailed information, so City staff can begin
work as soon as possible.
You may also choose to
enter your contact information. This includes your relationship
to the City, your name, address, daytime phone number, and your
e-mail address. This contact information is used to provide a
status update or ask additional questions if necessary.
BetterPlace provides
you a unique request number so you may track your submission.
Use this number to see the latest status with your request any
day or time of the year. When given your request number, you
should either write it down or click the Print button to
send it to your computer’s printer so you can access it later.
To access the
BetterPlace web site, click on the BetterPlace icon. You can
then enter or review your requests. If you do not have
Internet access, you may submit your requests to the City at
any time via the RSVP phone line at (407) 656-2218. You may also
call the City's main phone line at (407) 905-3100 during normal
business hours to talk with a live person.
