The City of Ocoee
held its Annual Easter Eggstravaganza
Event Saturday, March 30th 2013 at the
Jim Beech Recreation Center. It was a
fun-filled morning attended by
approximately 900 children with exciting
activities such as the Easter Egg hunt
for ages infant through 12
years of age, bounce houses, clowns
doing face painting and balloon
creations, food, refreshments and
pictures with the Easter Bunny.
There were also special appearances by
the Ocoee Police Department & Ocoee Fire
Department.

There were approximately 200 entries
(ages infant to 12 years) in the
Easter Coloring Contest. The
entries were judged by the City of
Ocoee's Parks and Recreation Advisory
Board. Contest winners are as
follows: Infant
to 3 Years:
Aishani Chril - 1st.
Place and Jayda Sills - 2nd. Place.
Ages 4 to 6: Stephanie Arias - 1st.
Place, Odin Fontanez - 2nd. Place and Kayleigh Burger
- 3rd. Place.
Ages
7 to 9: Kaley Chapman - 1st. Place,
Angelo Saurez - 2nd. Place and Shereena
Johnson - 3rd. Place.
Ages 10 to
12: Nya Headley - 1st. Place,
Amanda Soto - 2nd Place and Hannah Hillerman
- 3rd. Place.

BIG ORANGE GAMES
The City of Ocoee Parks and
Recreation Department hosted the Annual
Big Orange Games event on Saturday,
April 20th at
Ocoee
High School. The goal of
the Big Oranges Games is to give the
physically challenged youth and adults
an opportunity to participate in an
annual sporting event where they can
show that ‘disabled’ does not mean
‘unable’.
A total of 40 participants ranging
from 5 to 25 years old with cerebral
palsy, spinal lesions, blindness, les
autres, amputees, and 26 participants
from autism competed this year. Friends,
family, volunteers and staff were on
hand to support the athletes during the
Games.
These athletes competed in track
and field events such as the 40, 60, and
100 yard dash, club throw, discus, shot
put, softball throw, slalom and long
jump. An awards ceremony was held at the
end of the competition to present the
athletes with Gold, Silver, and Bronze
Big Orange Games medals.
The Parks and Recreation
Department would like to thank the
Orange County Public School Teachers,
Winter Garden Elks, Civitan, Chick-fil-A
of Ocoee, City of Ocoee Police and Fire
Department for their contributions.

Haunted House Halloween Event
The City of Ocoee’s Parks and Recreation Department held
it's 5th annual Haunted House October 25th. through
October 27th. 2012 The house located at 951
Ocoee-Apopka Road had over 4000 people attend over the
three nights. Thanks to all who came out to our "Spooktacular"
event.
