Charles K. Smith, P.E was named Utilities Director for the City of Ocoee on May 10, 2005. As Director, he is responsible for the daily management of the department, including budgeting, regulatory adherence, planning and design.

Mr. Smith earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with a specialization in Civil, Environmental and Structures from the University of Central Florida in 1987. He is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida and a member of the Florida Section American Water Works Association.

Mr. Smith has over 30 years of experience in the Engineering field, including 10 years with other governmental agencies and 13 years in a similar capacity with the City of Oviedo. The remaining years of Mr. Smith's experience include working as a consultant, overseeing a variety of projects including runway extensions, parking structures, commercial site design, parks and roadways. He is married with three children, two of which attend the University of Central Florida and one who attends Ocoee High School. His private interests including kayaking, biking, fly fishing and riding his Big Ruckus scooter.
