YARDWASTE
During the Spring and Summer season, we do more tree trimming, lawn mowing, and other landscaping activities which create more yard waste.  The Public Works Department has provided helpful hints to insure better service, efficiency and safety for the collectors:
  • Each bundle, bag, or container of yard waste must weight less than fifty pounds (50 lbs).
  • Yard waste is limited to (10) bags or a pile that is no larger than 4 cubic yards, anything over this is subject to a charge ($20.00 minimum) which will be added to your utility bill.
  • If you choose to put your yard waste in a container, the container should be an approved garbage container, not to exceed 50 gallons, have handles and a tight fitting lid.
  • Clippings and tree branches are to bundled and must be six feet (6') or less in length
  • Duct tape makes a good bundler.
  • Yard Waste and/or bulk items should be placed:
  • In your yard and not your neighbor's or a vacant lot;
  • Within three feet (3") of the curb;
  • No earlier than 7:00 p.m. the day before your collection day;
  • No later than 6:00 a.m. the morning of collection;
  • Away from power lines and poles, mailboxes, or anything that might interfere with the "claw'.
  • Bulk items (furniture, appliances, toys, and carpet) are collected with your yard waste; however, there is a charge.  We provide one free service per month, but in order to receive the free service you must place it on your first yard waste pick up of the month.  Any bulk items placed on another day during the month will receive a charge for the service.
  • If there is to be a charge for the item the Sanitation Driver will take a photo of the item in question.  The Operations Manager will determine the cost ($20 minimum) and will place the charge on your utility bill.
  • Yard waste and recycling are collected on the same day.
  • The Sanitation Division works all but the following days: New Years Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day.
