K-9 UNITS
The Ocoee Police K-9 unit consists of 2 handlers and 2 full-time service dogs. The K-9 Unit personnel conduct area searches for offenders, missing persons, evidence, drugs, and drug paraphernalia, as well as provide back-up assistance to other officers during reports of crimes-in-progress. They are particularly useful at the scene where buildings need to be searched. The K-9 Unit also provides preventive patrol of select locations.
Additionally, the members of the K-9 Unit regularly conduct public demonstrations to enhance the public's knowledge of the K-9's capabilities while at the same time establishing a higher level of communication with the citizens of Ocoee.
