[ARCHIVED] Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday

The public is invited to attend the City of Ocoee’s Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 11 a.m., Woman’s Club of Ocoee, 4 North Lakewood Avenue.

The Veterans Day Ceremony will include a keynote speaker, music and flag presentations. The city welcomes Steve Shuga, Past State Commander, American Legion Department of Florida, as its keynote speaker. Mr. Shuga currently serves as the Executive Director of the National American Legion Press Association. As the Past State Commander, he had the distinction of serving as the 100th State Commander during 2017 – 2018.  He completed 20 years of active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps, between 1975 to 1995, and has been a member of the American Legion for 16 years.  Mr. Shuga is a life member of both the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Marine Corps League.

Ocoee Middle School band students will perform a melody of music and present handwritten thank you cards to the veterans in attendance. Additionally, the Ocoee Police Department Honor Guard will present the flags.
