The City is making improvements to the stormwater system on N Lakewood Avenue and E Oakland Avenue in order to treat stormwater before it reaches Starke Lake.
The improvement project also includes a new brick roadway surface,15 on-street parking spaces, and 10’sidewalks.
As part of the downtown sewer initiative, the City extended gravity sewer lines by 662 feet north of McKey Street to serve six downtown businesses and one residential home on McKey Street.
The vision for W. Oakland Avenue is to be redeveloped as a mix-use corridor providing retail, dining, office, and living opportunities.
The existing city hall was built when our population was half of what it is today; Now, more room is needed to house staff and resources necessary to perform City services.
