Biography
Commissioner Scott R. Kennedy is a native-Floridian raised in North West Orange County. Scott and his wife, Mellita Kennedy, have been residents of Ocoee since 2004 and live in the Forest Brooke subdivision.
A Florida-licensed Certified Public Accountant, he graduated from Maynard Evans High School in Pine Hills, received his Bachelor’s degree in Technical Management from DeVry University, and his M.B.A. from the University’s Keller Graduate School of Management. Commissioner Kennedy is an accomplished and proven business leader who works as Chief Financial Officer and is a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional, CCIFP.
Commissioner Kennedy has a long history of volunteer work in the community and for over a decade, has served as President of the Forest Brooke homeowners’ association. He also served as the Vice Chair of Ocoee’s Planning and Zoning Commission and on the Human Relations Diversity Board prior to being elected into office and is serving his first term from 2023-2027.
